Update on Audrey :)

A couple of weeks ago we took Audrey to her first consultation at Cranial Technologies.  We were told by our Pedi that Audrey has slight Torticollis (Torticollis is caused by the shortening of muscles in the neck, particularly the Sternocleidomastoid (SCM) muscle. This can occur from placement in utero, the birth process or being constantly in the same position in car seats, swings, etc. and not having the opportunity to turn their neck to both sides.)
Audrey's muscle is tight on her left side causing her to always turn to the right.  This has caused her to have Brachycelphaly and Plagiocephaly.  Meaning the back of her head is a little bit flat and the right side that she lays on.  The good thing is we are doing something about it early on.  It can all be fixed and corrected.  We are doing stretches with her 5 times a day.  We are not supposed to put her in her swing, bouncer, carrier for a long period of time.  She has been sleeping in her swing, but......since Zoey is now in her big girl bed.....Audrey got her crib!
On the 2nd night she slept all night in her crib!

The next step is a re-evaluation on Feb 3rd and on that day she will get measured for her DOC band.  (which looks like the little helmets you see babies wearing).  She will get her band on the 10th.  She will wear it for a minimun of 5 weeks getting checked every week.  This will "mold" her head back into its correct shape.  We will continue therapies to get her muscle to loosen up.

I will update more after her 4 month appt on the 2nd!
